The  T a y l o r  Family

Serving the H m o n g  people in Asia

The T a y l o r s  (names & exact location withheld for security reasons) have been working with the Hmong people of Asia for over a decade. B. T a y l o r  is American and Mrs. T a y l o r   is  H m o n g.

The H m o n g  are a minority people group who live in Southeast Asia and China, as well as the U.S.A., France, Australia and South America. Divided by politics and war, the H m o n g  have succeeded in being dispersed throughout the world, with the largest concentration still being in Asia. Living by self-reliance and independence, worshipping the spirits of their ancestors and placating evil spirits, they try to survive in a constantly, rapidly changing world. Although they are animistic, their folk tales have great resemblance to the Old Testament. At present the H m o n g  have the complete New Testament and selected shorts of the Old Testament available to them.

B. T a y l o r  worked in full-time Christian ministry in Texas for four years prior to going to Asia in 1986. Mr. & Mrs. T a y l o r  were married in 1987 and now have four children. All but one of their children were born in Asia.

The primary work of B. & Mrs. T a y l o r  is teaching, and writing Bible study materials and radio broadcasts.  It is the goal of the T a y l o r s  to help facilitate a church planting movement amongst the 2,500,000 far western H m o n g  peoples spread over Asia. They are approaching it in a threefold strategy:
1. Revival of the visible church.
2. Church planting using a chronological long-term teaching method rather than short crusades.
3. Taking opportunities to be in strategic places at the right times, via radio broadcasts done in chronological teaching format, and agricultural projects to allow them access into closed countries.
